There is no set water level that is correct, the level can vary considerably to suit different people and this is somthing you will develop a feel for in a short time.
Your mattress should look slightly wrinkled on top.
Ways of checking the water level are:
(a)
Somewhere between 19 - 23 cm (7"-9") of water is correct. This can be checked simply by placing a piece of dowel or a broom handle dowen the valve and measuring to see if the
watermark is between these two levels.
(b)
Sit on the bed with your legs over then side.If you are slightly touching the bottom then the water level is fairly correct.
(c)
the Heavist of the two partners should lie on their side of the bed on their own and so long as their hip dosen’t touch the bottom when they move slightly, then there is enough
water.
It is easy to overfill your (Eatco) flotation mattress but you cannot really underfill it. The mattress should look a little wrinkled on the top and not be smooth if the water level is correct.

Mattresses
You should always use some form of protector or pad over the mattress. There are many different types available or you can use a blanket if you prefer. This protects the mattress from
body oils and perspriation which can have an adverse affect on the vinyl.
1- Adding Conditioner
(Eatco) conditioner should be added every six months. This prevents any bacteria or algae buildup, keeping the water fresh and it also enhances the life of the vinly used in the
mattress.
N.B. it is a good idea to develop the habit of making your calender or diary six months ahead indicating when the next application of conditioner is due.
To assist with your timing provisions have been made on the mattress label to mark the last “conditioner added” date.
2- Vinyl
You will find after a period of time. a film of dust may coat the top sutface of your mattress. This is easily removed with (Eatco) Vinyl cleaner. The dust is usually absorbed into a normal mattress ticking. If any thig is spilt on the vinyl then it is best removed using warm water and cloth or vinyl cleaner.
N.B. it pays to check between the siderails and mattress frequently as objects can slip between these and could cause damage.
2- Taking The Air Out of Your
(Eatco) Flotation Mattress.
This process, commonly known as “burping” your (Eatco) flotation mattress has to be carried out at varying intervals, and is a two minute process easiest done when changing the sheets.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THERE IS AIR IN YOUR BED?
The tell-tail sign is when you can hear the water moving as you climb into bed or if you give it a push. If there is no air in your bed no sound of moving water can be heard. Although the air will not affect the comfort of your (Eatco) flotation mattress. The sound of moving water may be annoying and therefore it is time to “burp” your bed.
